How we work
Whether your project involves a brand new build or a rebuild of an existing solution, a full specification of the work required will be created before pricing. Only once the specification, price and timescale has been agreed and a deposit has been paid, will we book the work in.
What we need from you
We will require a dedicated primary contact at your organisation. We do need you to commit some of your time, but collaboration is key in building a high quality, fit-for-purpose solution within budget and on time.
Practical Project Management
We take a lean, practical approach to how your project is managed, which facilitates your site being completed on time and within budget.
Practical project management relies on regular video meetings (via Zoom) with your designated primary contact. All elements of your build will be uploaded into our project management software (Jira), giving you real-time visual information on the project’s progression.
We encourage scheduled time and date communications in order to minimise drift and waste within the project, and ensure quality is maintained on even the most complex requirements.
Jira
To effectively manage your project’s pipeline of work, we utilise Jira extensively. When signing up with us, you will be provided with a login so you can monitor progress and raise tickets for any desired functionality.
By having a central place to collaborate on your requirements, we can ensure that every one of your requirements is met, nothing gets lost, and that our developers have the full context for the functionality required available at all times. During our scheduled Zoom meetings, we will use Jira to update you on progress and effectively plan work.
As part of our solution package we will train you on how to use Jira, so there’s no need to worry if you’re unfamiliar with the software. It's fairly straightforward and we are always here to help.
Best practice
To ensure swift and high quality development, we follow the principles and processes of industry best practice. These include carrying out peer reviews of code and implementing effective testing processes.
We have extensive experience writing software for high-traffic eCommerce websites and, because we want to see your business' digital presence grow, everything we build has scalability and performance in mind.
To maintain the security of your site, we use automated tools to keep on top of new security updates, and release them in a timely manner to ensure your site is kept up to date.
Effective integration
There are always risks when integrating changes into production environments. We do our utmost to ensure this risk is mitigated and the process runs as seamlessly as possible.
All changes are rigorously tested in a staging environment prior to being released to production, and procedures are in place so that we can rollback to the previous working version if something goes wrong.
As part of our hosting packages, automated backups of your site are created on a daily basis and the servers running your site are configured in code, so they can easily be re-created. This means that even in the most apocalyptic of situations, downtime can be kept to a minimum.
On-going support
After your project is shipped, your site will be looked after by our maintenance team, who are there to ensure all updates are applied in a timely manner.
However, software should never be ‘finished’. The marketplace (the web) is constantly evolving and as such it is reasonable to expect your solution to also need to evolve in order to stay effective, secure and functional.
Post-launch, we can analyse how customers interact with your site and make appropriate changes to widen the sales funnel and optimise your conversion rate.
To ensure that we can service your needs effectively, and offer both parties stability, we have volume pricing that can reduce costs for your project and on-going fees, if you commit to a certain amount of monthly resource.
